BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH -- REV. FREDERICK C. TAYLOR
Rick, as he prefers to be addressed, was born in Hamilton, Ontario on March 14, 1951. He received his childhood education in Hamilton and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Western Ontario in 1973. Rick attended Emmanuel College for his theological training. He earned a Master of Divinity degree in May 1976 and was ordained by Hamilton Conference on June 4, 1976.
Rick has served the United Church in four previous pastoral charges. His ordinand charge (1976-1980), was in central Manitoba. This five point pastorate was known as Plumas and the Lakeshore. From 1980-1984, Rick served the congregation of St. Andrew's United Church in Port Alberni, B.C.. From 1984-1992, Rick was part of a team ministry at Ryerson United Church in Vancouver. From 1992 until his move to Steveston, Rick served the people of Marpole United Church, Vancouver. Rick has been at Steveston since July, 2001.
When Rick is not passionately engaged in the life and work of the
church, he enjoys a variety of musical pursuits, golf, curling, travel
and wider family
activities.
